July 2011: Cabin Lockout

We thought it would be fun to run up the canyon and have dinner at Lee's grandparents cabin. We took our neighbor's kids with us. When we got there we realized the cabin key was not on the right key ring and we were locked out. We played on the swing set and came home.

July 2011: Miscellaneous

Tyler's Lego creation.

Andrew lost a tooth.

Emma used up all of my lipstick along with some eye makeup too.

Laura started school at Lil' Aggies. Emma remembered going to school there.

I told her I'd take her picture with her backpack.

Laura loved preschool!

July 2011: Family, Family, Family

The first weekend in July we went to the Gibby Hideaway Cabin with Becca's parents and siblings.
Shooting the Air-Soft guns off the back deck.

Andrew was not part of the targets. He had just set the cans back up.

Bus driver Emma.

Emma on one of the swings.

Laura on one of the swings.

The first time the Bunkhouse was used.

We added a filter film to the windows to help keep the cabin cooler.

Trimming the film for the next window.

Very high windows.

Waiting for some drivers.

Ready to ride!
We also played games, did a puzzle, jumped on the trampoline, went swimming, hiking, golfing (Grandpa let Tyler drive the golf cart), and did some mountain bike rides. Lee found his Garmin GPS watch that had been missing for years in an outside pocket of one of our bags! We watched the fireworks on the fourth with front and center seats, which was pretty good since we didn't really know where the show was going to be.
On the way down the mountain side on our way home Andrew summed up the fun when he said, "If they took down the mountains, that would suck!"

The next weekend we went to the Gibby Campout with Becca's extended family.
Getting ready for a [long] ride.

Grandpa's all set.

Lee and Andrew are ready for adventure.

Grandma's always ready.

And this was the last we saw them for over three hours.

Laura and the cousins that stayed behind with Becca.

It didn't take long for more cousins (well, second cousins really) to show up and play.

And then more cousins!

The riders came back dirty.

Dirt is part of the fun of camping.

Dirt is not equally fun for everyone.

We also rode bikes, played lots of card games, had a water balloon volleyball game/fight, ate lots of yummy snow cones, slept in the tent, and set up the projector for an outside movie. We were camping near a river that was on the other side of the bushes, but we could still hear it. Tyler asked, "Have we been here before?" When I told him we hadn't been there he said, "That river sounds familiar."

Grandma and Grandpa made the Gibby Athletic Club shirts for each of their grand kids for Christmas. Emma calls it her "Becca shirt".

The next weekend we had a Gibby Family Reunion. It was for my all of my Grandpa's siblings and their families. I didn't take any pictures. The kids all made pioneer toys and had fun.
