Kindergarten Manners

I helped at the PTA Valentine's Tea at Woodruff. I was only there for half of the day. I wasn't there when Tyler's class came in, but I was there for Andrew's. (Along with most of the other mothers from his class. It looked like the paparazzi when Mrs. Kelly brought in her class.) We served cake and red Kool-aid (I know brave!) and reminded the students to use good manners. It really isn't that surprising, but the Kindergarten kids showed better manners than the Fifth graders. I guess we remind the younger ones to say Thank You more than we do the older kids. Nothing major, just an interesting observation.

 Mrs. Kelly and Andrew.

There really were enough of us moms helping from this class that we had them do a class picture. We didn't do that for any of the other classes.

Laura had a great time playing with lots of other two year old "helpers". I bent down to take a picture of her, so she bent down too. Such an imitation age. We better be good examples.

My White Knight

Happy Valentine's Day!
Lee arranged a baby sitter and we went on a fun date today.
He took me to lunch at Cafe Sabor.
And then we went to see The Music Man at the Ellen Eccles Theatre.
We, of course, knew some of the songs, but I really didn't know much of the storyline. It was quite fun.
We had pretty good seats. We weren't even in the balcony. I took our binoculars, but didn't even get them out of my purse.
We picked up the kids and had heart pizzas from Papa Murphy's for dinner. It was a great day!

Riverside Preschool

Emma started at Riverside Preschool this week. She will go twice a week. She has a one hour bus ride to and from school. She took a nap on the bus during the drive home.

She also attends the Speech and Hearing clinic on campus twice a week. It took some doing, but I finally got Riverside and USU scheduled on different days. These pictures are from her first day at USU last semester.

Musical Review

At the end of January, Tyler got to perform in the Woodruff Elementary Broadway Musical Review. It was really amazing to see how much the 75 kids learned in only eleven practices. They stayed after school for an hour and a half and learned some fun dance steps and the lyrics to nine musical numbers. Tyler was in five songs. They performed for the school as an assembly and then had two performances that same night. He had a great time. Thank you to everyone that came and watched him!
These pictures are either from the dress rehearsal or in between performances the director had them pose. She had them sing part of the song and then said freeze so parents could take pictures.

 Before the first night performance.
Tyler is in the middle of the middle during "Happiness" from You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. They were in the same positions for most of "Oh, the Things You Can Think" and "Green Eggs and Ham" both from Seussical the Musical.
The 3-5th grade boys sang "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" from The Lion King.
Tyler as Zazu from The Lion King.
Tyler in "Jellicle Cats" from Cats.
Tyler with Great Grandpa Rich.
